In a TV documentary, Prince William shares memories of his mother and brother. For six years, the Prince of Wales did not mention Harry’s name.
A new TV documentary shows how Princess Diana took brothers William and Harry to a homeless shelter in London as children. This was to allow her to experience the reality of life outside the palace.
The program won’t be broadcast until next week, but it was announced in advance that it will feature unpublished photos of William and Diana. On June 14, 1993, a few days before his eleventh birthday, Princess Diana took William to a homeless shelter. In one photo you can see Prinzen playing chess in his home. This remembrance remains a commitment for Prince William to this day, the documentary is titled: “Prince William: We can end homelessness.”
William mentions his brother Harry
William also mentions his brother by name: “My mother took me to the passage, she took Harry and I both with her… I had never been to anything like this before and was a little nervous about what to expect.”

The mention of Harry is, on the one hand, completely natural in this context, but also a sensation. For six years, since 2018, William has not mentioned his brother in any interviews or speeches.
Now he spreads his memories: “My mother, as always, made everyone feel comfortable and cracked jokes with everyone… I remember some nice conversations, we played chess and chatted. “You meet people who are different to you Give perspective.”
Prince William sees himself as a real royal
Filming began in June 2023 when Prince William presented his project “Homewards”. Homelessness is to be ended in six British regions. The project was delayed due to the serious illness of his wife Princess Kate.
The unusual openness and shared memories of his mother Diana are intended to help the homeless project. Prince William is actively involved here and not just as a royal patron. And thus indicates what kind of king he wants to be. The Prince says, “I feel compelled to act because I don’t want to just talk about it. I don’t just want to listen. I actually want to see someone smile because their life has gotten better.”
The two-part documentary will air on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK at 9pm on October 30th and 31st.
