Chalamet took photos – his double won
Accompanied by several bodyguards, the 28-year-old Hollywood star posed for photos with his lookalikes, who were dressed as some of the actor’s most iconic characters. Including Willy Wonka, from the 2023 hit film “Wonka” and also as Paul Atreides from “Dune”. Some of the doppelgängers seemed so convincing that fans of the actor even confused them with the real Chalamet.
Miles Mitchels, 21, from Staten Island, New York, who appeared in a purple Willy Wonka outfit, won the event. Among other things, the participants also had to demonstrate their knowledge of French and comment on their romantic relationship with Kylie Jenner (27). Chalamet and Jenner have reportedly been dating in real life for several months.
At least one police arrest
In the meantime, however, the fun came to an abrupt end when the New York police asked visitors and participants to leave the venue. The organizers were fined $500 for an “unauthorized costume contest.” According to media reports, one participant even had to be taken away in handcuffs. Eyewitnesses reported that the event “developed into complete chaos.”
The lookalike contest, hosted by YouTuber Anthony Po, was previously advertised on flyers across New York. Thousands of applicants registered for the event, which offered prize money of just $50.
