To the south of the City is a town with a population of just 12 thousand inhabitants, ideal for tourism in the Province.

It is the town of Rauch, 277 kilometers from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in the center-east of the province of Buenos Aires. Its nature and architecture make it an ideal place to contemplate its beauty and get away from the chaos of CABA. It is named in honor of the Prussian soldier Federico Rauch, who participated in the campaigns prior to the Conquest of the Desert.

The founding of the town began during the presidency of Bartolomé Mitre, before it was a territory in dispute between the Creoles and the Querandíes, some natives who in turn had disputes with the Mapuches. It was not until 1869 that a justice of the peace for the territory, Francisco Mauricio Letamendi, was appointed.
