What Godzilla Minus One is about
The film takes place after World War II, when Japan was already facing economic and social devastation before an even more destructive force arrived: Godzilla. The story follows a nation and its people as they struggle to rebuild, but face an unimaginable new threat when the monster wreaks havoc on an already devastated landscape.
The film is distinguished from the Hollywood versions of Godzilla by Warner Bros. and Legendary, with Ryunosuke Kamiki in the lead role as Kichi Shikishima, a former kamikaze pilot who must face his own personal battles while facing the devastation wrought by Godzilla.
