Heidi Klum vs. Janelle Monae
Who is the more convincing ET?

Heidi Klum transformed into the alien ET for Halloween. But singer Janelle Monáe also had this idea.
Heidi Klum’s (51) Halloween costume is out of competition every year – actually. This year she celebrated her legendary party together with her husband Tom Kaulitz (35) as ET, the alien from the classic film by Steven Spielberg (77). But Janelle Monáe (38) also had this idea and appeared at her own Halloween event. The singer shared photos of herself in the ET costume and also visited the US talk show “Jennifer Hudson Show” as an alien on October 30, hours before Klum’s big appearance.
Users joked that Klum was probably angry about the costume parallel. And actually the two fairings are quite similar.
Mask vs. XXL prosthetic head
Both women had a sculpted body with a big belly and wrinkled skin. Both sported oversized feet and extra-long arms with huge hands – and both had the signature glowing index finger. In addition, both Klum and Monáe dared the “disguise inception”: While Klum adorned with a long blonde wig, a hat and a dress, Monáe also appeared on Instagram in ET costume in various outfits, including a dress or a suit .
Differences in the costumes can be seen primarily in the dimensions of the costume and especially the head. Monáe wore a deceptively real mask with her ET corpus, through whose eyes she could see normally. As a result, her ET wasn’t particularly big, but rather small and stocky like the original, but without the characteristic long neck.
It’s completely different with Heidi Klum, the “Queen of Halloween”, for whom everything always has to be superlative on the spookiest day of the year. The model wore a second head on top of his head, namely the prosthetic giant ET skull. Klum’s face was tucked into the distinctively long ET neck, allowing her to see and speak. The huge blue googly eyes and the movable pink mouth of her ET version were controlled by an employee.
No competition between the ETs
Heidi Klum has been causing a stir for years with her Halloween party and her extremely elaborate costumes. Their disguises take around a year of planning, hundreds of hours of costume work and finally several more hours in the make-up. She is therefore officially considered the “Queen of Halloween” – but Janelle Monáe is hot on her heels. She said she had been planning her costume for two years
To realize her vision, she also hired stylists, makeup artists, videographers and special effects experts. For her, Halloween is “a happy space,” and Halloween experiences are “work of the heart” that “needs her heart.” However, Monáe downplayed the emerging competition. “There can be two Hello Queens. I love Heidi,” she told the Associated Press at her Halloween party.
While Klum held her Halloween event in New York like every year with numerous star guests, Monáe celebrated her party on the opposite coast in Los Angeles.
