The 21st season of “DSDS” could be the last for Pietro Lombardi as a juror: He is said to soon be replaced by rapper Bushido.
The headlines about Pietro Lombardi (32) don’t stop. After it became known that there was a heated argument with his fiancée Laura Maria Rypa (28) at the beginning of October, including police intervention, the former “DSDS” winner is in the public eye. The question quickly arose as to whether he would still be acceptable as a juror on the RTL casting show after the incident. Like , Lombardi will soon be out of his position on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”: In the next season, rapper Bushido (46) will judge the young singers instead.
First candidate, then juror
That would certainly be bitter for Pietro Lombardi, after all, he has a long history with the show and chief juror Dieter Bohlen (70). His mentor became a good friend over the years. In 2011, Lombardi won the eighth season, and in 2019 he sat on the jury for the first time. He also served as a juror in 2020 and returned in 2023 after a break. Bohlen is said to have supported Lombardi until the very end. Nevertheless, the decision for Bushido has now been made. The musician, who lives in Dubai, has been working with the Cologne private broadcaster for some time, for example on a documentary series and a podcast.
RTL has not yet commented on the report, and there are no statements from Lombardi, Bohlen and Bushido either. According to “Bild”, Lombardi’s manager Markus Krampe (44) reacted “surprised”. He is quoted as saying: “As long as no one from RTL has spoken to us, I can’t comment on it.”
This is what they said about their “crass argument”
Just shortly before, Lombardi and his partner Rypa had given an interview about the night of the argument. The mood in the family is currently “very good,” the singer reported in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. His fiancée agreed that the two were doing “well given the circumstances.” “So yes, as Pietro has already confirmed, the police were with us. But to be honest, I have to say, it was really such a blatant argument that we haven’t had before.”
A little thing broke the camel’s back. The two “argued loudly” and Lombardi then started “throwing things around. I don’t know that about us.” The singer explained that he threw the objects, photos and records, but not in the direction of his partner. “We no longer have beautiful pictures of ourselves on the wall.”
The couple became parents again just a few weeks ago. The two announced the birth of their son Amelio Elija in August. Leano (1), their first son, was born at the beginning of 2023. Lombardi also has another son, Alessio (9), from his marriage to the singer Sarah Engels (32).
