Jamie Lee Curtis has been producing films for several years. As she now reveals, her mortality was one reason for this.
Jamie Lee Curtis (65) appears as a producer for a documentary about fitness guru Susan Powter (66). As she revealed, she would not have dared to undertake a project of this size before. In the interview, the actress said she wanted to portray Powter during the 1990s. “When she was on her way to breaking through, I would have been the exact person they would have hired,” she said. “I looked cute in a leotard, I had short hair, I would have cut it shorter, I’m bold and cheeky, maybe a little annoying, maybe a little loud,” the “Halloween” star described herself.
Change of heart at age 60
When asked by the magazine, Curtis explained that he didn’t have the courage to pitch such an idea at the time. “I only came into my own power as a producer when I realized I was about to die. When I turned 60, that was a real turning point where I realized all the things I had in my head “My heart, my mind, my soul, my spirit and my life force would die with me if I didn’t put them out into the universe,” she gave a glimpse into her change of heart.
After the realization, she approached Jason Blum (55) with her desire to have her own production company. In 2019 she fulfilled her dream with Comet Pictures. According to US media reports, the actress signed a three-year contract with Blum’s company Blumhouse Productions in 2020. “It paid off very well for all of us,” she told “Entertainment Weekly” about her venture.
Another appearance in the “Halloween” franchise?
In addition to the documentary, Curtis is currently involved in the “Freaky Friday” sequel “Freakier Friday,” among other things. The film will be shown in cinemas from August 8, 2025. But another return could also be in store for the actress.
Curtis about another commitment to the “Halloween” film series. She resigned from her role as Laurie after “Halloween Ends” (2022) and is grateful for the time. Nevertheless, at the end of the phone call she said: “If I have learned anything in my 65 years on this planet, it is to never say never. Goodbye.” After her first appearance as a babysitter in “Halloween” (1978), Curtis starred in six other parts of the Michael Myers franchise over the years.
