Tom Hanks is 68 years old, has type 2 diabetes and yet the actor finds a completely different age a burden. Which one it is might surprise some people.
Almost every older person tells younger people about life: “It doesn’t get any better and when you’re young everything is still great.” Not Tom Hanks. During an interview he finds clear words for a phase of his life that he found extremely stressful. It’s actually a long way from where he is now.
The “hardest age” for the actor was, amazingly, from 35: “That’s the moment when your metabolism stops, gravity starts pulling you down, your bones start wearing out, you stand differently – I think “I’m in better shape now,” Hanks said. When the reporter from “Entertainment Tonight” complimented him on the red carpet that he looked good, the 68-year-old explained his statement in more detail.

Tom Hanks has more time for himself as he gets older
“Do you know why? Because my children are grown, I get enough exercise and I can eat healthily. That’s not possible at 35. Life is such a burden!” says Tom Hanks. Although he now has adult-onset diabetes, he has more time to take care of himself. “Take care of the temple, baby, take care of the temple,” he tells the reporter with a laugh. “That’s all I’m trying to do.”
His latest film “Here” is scheduled to hit German cinemas in December. Thematically appropriate, Tom Hanks takes the viewer on a journey through time. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright play through different phases of their lives. You can see the actor from young to old, even at the most difficult age: 35.
The portal “kino.de” describes the plot with the words: “A spot on the earth through the ages. Where one moment there are dinosaurs grazing, the next there is a house. To a specific chapter of history, which in view of this Although events seem incredibly small, Richard Young (Tom Hanks) and his beloved Margaret (Robin Wright) also live here. Their story is different and yet interwoven with all the generations that came before and after them, they are all shaped by love, loss, Laughter and life.”
