Two years ago, Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth, the Marvel Universe’s Thor, made fans’ mouths water on Netflix as Australian mercenary Tyler Rake in the action smash Extraction. The work catapulted itself to the top of the most watched Netflix productions. The sequel announced last September seemed only logical. And at the end of the month it’s time to fire again – this time in Vienna’s Donaustadt.
From January 31st to February 14th, the sequel is to be shot on the Danube plateau, as the weekly newspaper “Falter” reports. And Hemsworth’s announcement last fall – “If you thought our first film had gone to extremes, wait and see what Sam[Hargrave, director n.d.]and I have planned for the sequel” – will be followed by the Producers obviously taken it seriously. According to “Falter”, the parents with children in the Donaucity kindergarten were at least offered the opportunity to take care of the little ones for the duration of the filming for 120 euros a day, and some shops will also be temporarily closed for compensation. Action isn’t for everyone.
