Gary Barlow’s children have no interest in a public life like their father. They would rather become an academic.
Gary Barlow (53) speaks in a rare comment to his family about the career aspirations of his three children. Although their father became famous worldwide as a member of the boy band Take That, they do not want to lead a life in the public eye. According to the singer, they have no interest in show business and are instead aiming for academic careers.
“The two eldest chose medicine and physiology,” reports the father of three. His youngest daughter is not yet sure about her career aspirations, but is also “very hard-working – in contrast to me and my wife.”
Barlow has been married to Dawn Andrews (54) for 24 years. Together the couple have children Daniel (24), Emily (22) and Daisy (15).
For Gary Barlow, show business was “good business”
“I don’t think they will follow in my musical footsteps,” Barlow continued. “But I wouldn’t discourage them if they wanted it, it was a good deal for me,” emphasizes the singer.
He still enjoys his job and life in the spotlight. “When you realize that you can make a living doing this, it’s a great place where you feel comfortable,” enthuses the musician. Many roles in show business are “just wonderful. There’s definitely a much tougher world out there than the one I’m in.”
