World stars such as Jennifer Coolidge, Nicholas Hoult and Kyle MacLachlan are expected in Berlin at the end of November for the 26th “Men of the Year” gala of the German “GQ”.
This time, the men of the year for the German edition of “GQ” magazine include actors Nicholas Hoult (34) and Kyle MacLachlan (65). Hoult (“The Menu”, “The Order”, “Skins – Hautnah”) will be honored as “Actor of the year” and MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”, Fallout) as “Icon” in Berlin on November 28th. As “Woman of the Year” honors Jennifer Coolidge (63), who became a cult favorite with the series “The White Lotus”, and who also played the famous role of Stifler’s Mum in “American Pie”.
All three will be present at the awards ceremony scheduled for Thanksgiving evening in the Great Orangery of Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, the magazine reports. The French fashion designer Michèle Lamy (80) was honored as “Art Icon of the Year”.
This year’s winners “question supposed conventions and impress with their individuality in their respective areas,” said “GQ” editor-in-chief Tobias Frericks. With its “Men of the Year” award, the Munich-based magazine no longer only honors men, but also women who inspire and achieve extraordinary things.
In other countries too, the international “GQ” magazine from Condé Nast (“Vogue”) chooses men and people of the year. The magazine brand “Glamour” from the same publisher now also has its own “Women of the Year” event in Germany. She will be in Berlin on November 12th.
