Celebrity couple Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar have been living away from the media for 22 years. No problem, he says.
Sarah Michelle Gellar (47) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (48) have been married for around 22 years – but the two actors are hardly in the headlines. No coincidence, as he now reveals in a podcast.
In conversation with his colleague Brian Austin Green (51), it is not difficult for the couple to keep their relationship private. “You can control it to a certain extent,” he explains. When co-host Randy Spelling (46) added that not all stars seem to find it so easy, his guest replied: “I don’t know how consciously [andere] try to avoid this nonsense.” For him it’s easy because he hardly goes out anyway. “We have our restaurants that we like and they’re not super trendy in places where paparazzi are. So we’re good at avoiding them.”
Just let Schwarzenegger go ahead
Freddie Prinze Jr. emphasizes that he doesn’t want to beat anyone up, but “it’s not that hard… if you really want to.” If paparazzi happen to be waiting on his street, he also has a trick ready. “There are people who are much more famous than me on this street. So I just wait until they leave. They go after Schwarzenegger and leave me alone.”
He also mentions that the couple’s lifestyle apparently has little to do with clubs and parties. “We just don’t like this life.” The reason for this may also be that Gellar grew up in New York and “experienced everything before she turned 21, like nightclubs and all that stuff.” He himself can count on one hand how many clubs he has been to in his life.
The “Buffy” star and Freddie Prinze Jr. met on the set of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in the 1990s. They married in September 2002 and had two children, Charlotte, now 15, and Rocky, 12.
