Michael Jordan is a legend in basketball history. Memorabilia from his career are often offered at auction – now a very special one has been auctioned.
A jersey belonging to former basketball star Michael Jordan (61) fetched almost five million dollars (around 4.5 million euros) at an auction in New York. The number 23 shirt, which Jordan wore in at least 17 games with the Chicago Bulls during the 1996/1997 championship season, was auctioned for $4.7 million, auction house Sotheby’s said. The auction house did not initially say who purchased it.
Michael Jordan is considered one of the greatest legends in basketball history. Jerseys, shoes and other memorabilia from his career have been auctioned off at high prices several times.
