Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler: Their daughters watched “50 First Dates”

Not only Drew Barrymore (49) and Adam Sandler (58) are friends with each other, but also their children. Like Barrymore in hers, her and Sandler’s daughter watched a movie together in which her parents played lovers. It was “50 First Dates,” which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

“Why are you watching this?” Drew Barrymore asked the girls. “Aren’t you fed up with me and your father yet?” The children seemed happy when they saw their parents together on the screen, the actress said. “It was so sweet and wonderful,” she said of the moment. “Your kids reject so many things about you,” Barrymore continued, once they accept something she’s done, they think, “Oh, how fantastic.”

Drew Barrymore didn’t say which children she caught watching a movie together. Because there are several candidates. Barrymore and her ex-husband Will Koppelman (46) have two daughters Olive (12) and Frankie (10). Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie are also raising two daughters: Sadie (18) and Sunny (16).

In “50 First Dates” Adam Sandler plays veterinarian Henry, who falls in love with Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore. The problem: Lucy suffers from amnesia and has forgotten everything she experienced the next day. So Henry has to woo her every day.

“50 First Dates” is Sandler and Barrymore’s second film together. In 1998 they appeared in front of the camera together for the first time in “A Wedding to Fall in Love”. The duo’s third hit followed in 2014 with “Urlaubsreif”. A fourth collaboration could come soon. Barrymore said she was looking for new material for her and Sandler.
