In “Saltburn” Barry Keoghan stands naked in front of the camera. Now the leading actor reveals raunchy details about the filming.
Barry Keoghan (32) has a lot to clarify about his film “Saltburn”! Host Louis Theroux (54) asked the actor about speculation that Keoghan may have worn a prosthetic penis in his famous nude dance scene. He seems surprised by this: “Who said that? No. Wow. That was all me. It was one thing that I didn’t really bat an eyelash at […] I would have batted an eyelash if it didn’t fit the story.”
“I don’t like dancing”
In the scene in question, Keoghan dances through a large villa to the song “Murder on the Dancefloor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor (45). “And when you have that space… We all do it at home. We walk around naked, […] because we feel comfortable and this is our environment. So they said, ‘Maybe it’s better if you’re naked?'” the film star remembers the filming. That didn’t seem to be a problem for Keoghan – but another thing was causing him a headache. He was hesitant because of the dancing , he explained: “I don’t like dancing.”
It’s not just the dance scene that’s causing excitement
“Saltburn” was released last year. Keoghan’s naked dance scene wasn’t the only one that caused a stir in the thriller by Emerald Fennell (39): Among other things, his role Oliver observed his college friend Felix, played by Jacob Elordi (27), masturbating in the bathtub, whereupon Oliver complained wallows in the remaining water.
Keoghan was aware that such scenes would cause a stir, which is why he carefully considered whether and how he wanted to portray such a scene. “When the scene came up, I was completely ready for it. Because it felt right for Oliver,” he once emphasized in an interview with Variety.
