Britain’s heir to the throne, Prince William, visits South Africa to present an environmental award. He wears a personal memento on his wrist.
Prince William wore a special memento of home during a visit to South Africa. The heir to the British throne had a friendship bracelet with the words “Papa” on his wrist. His daughter Princess Charlotte did it, reported the British news agency PA.
US superstar Taylor Swift’s fans in particular have made homemade friendship bracelets popular again. They like to swap them with each other at concerts. William and his offspring attended a concert by the singer at Wembley Stadium in London in the summer.

Currently the eldest son of King Charles III. in South Africa to present an environmental prize. During the multi-day trip, William met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, visited Signal Hill in Cape Town and said he liked cheetahs. His wife Princess Kate and their children – apart from Charlotte, Princes George and Louis – were not there.

Since 2021, the Earthshot Prize, supported by William, has honored projects that excel in the categories of nature conservation, ocean revitalization, air cleanliness, waste prevention and climate protection. The award comes with prize money of one million British pounds (almost 1.2 million euros) per category.
