Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman They will team up for another movie together. After the success of his recent film Deadpool & WolverineReynolds confirmed that he and Jackman were teaming up again on a new project that is unrelated to Marvel.
Speaking to the Variety Awards Circuit podcast, Reynolds confirmed his plans, saying: “I’m going to spend the year writing. I’m going to write a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] that is not from Marvel“.
The actor did not reveal any plot details at this stage, but said he will be working on the project over the next year.
The project will also mark Reynolds’ third project with Levy after Deadpool 3, Free Guy and The Adam Project.
Deadpool & Wolverine comes to Disney+
Deadpool & Wolverine will finally be available on Disney+ on November 12. The superhero film is the second highest-grossing film of 2024, grossing $1.3 billion at the global box office. It recently surpassed Barbie ($636.2 million) to become the twelfth highest-grossing North American release in history. It also ranks as the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.
The film follows Wade Wilson (Reynolds), also known as Deadpool, whose peaceful existence collapses when the Time Variation Authority interferes with his life. He soon becomes frenemy with Wolverine (Jackman) to save his world from a multiversal threat. It is the first installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is headed by comic book characters that were previously licensed to 20th Century Foxwhich was acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 2019.
