Donald Trump is causing mixed reactions with his election as US President. “I hate you all,” summed up Cardi B, for example.
The election of Donald Trump (78) as the 47th President of the USA concerns the world and has also provoked numerous celebrity reactions. US and German stars commented on the Republican’s victory on social media. Singer Cardi B (32) expressed herself particularly drastically: “I hate you all very much,” it was written there after the election results were announced.
A particularly angry tirade came from supermodel Cara Delevingne (32). She called on her friends to give the Republicans “four years of hell” with a text in her Instagram story. In her post, she described party representatives as fascists, misogynists and liars, among other things.
Actress Christina Applegate (52) was equally stunned. “Why????? My child is crying because she is afraid that her rights as a woman are being curtailed. Why? And if you support this, please unfollow me,” she wrote. “Riverdale” star Lili Reinhart (28) expressed her sympathy for the women who have accused Trump of sexual assault. She couldn’t imagine what it was like for her “to see millions voting for their alleged abuser. My heart breaks for these women.”
Colleague Sophia Bush (42) also spoke of a “broken heart”. “I wonder how many people are now saying: ‘At least he’s not a black woman!'” the actress wrote on the short message platform. Author Stephen King (77) compared democracy to a fragile object that, once broken, is broken forever.
German stars are stunned
German celebrities have also given their opinions on the re-election in large numbers on social media. Influencer Cathy Hummels (36) said in her Instagram story that she was not surprised by the result, but was still shocked. “I’m really afraid of what this means for us – the rest of the world – that a madman is running this country.”
Moderator Ruth Moschner (48) emphasized that she could not understand how Donald Trump, a “convicted criminal” and “massively anti-women and anti-queer” candidate, could come to power. “In America you can elect people like Trump, who act anti-democratically, democratically,” she criticized. Jochen Schropp (45) also spoke of “fear, disbelief, worry” in his story and expressed solidarity for “every woman, every immigrant and every member of the LGBT* community as well as every person with a good heart.” Vera Int-Veen (57) briefly commented on the choice: “It was a laughing matter.”
Trump supporters celebrate
But of course there were also positive voices for Donald Trump. Boxer Jake Paul (27) celebrated: “America is saved”. “Truth and God” had triumphed and the world could now heal from its serious problems. Entrepreneur Elon Musk is also sure: “The future will be fantastic,” he said on election evening.
Pop star Heino (85) dedicated an entire article to the US presidential election in which he congratulated Trump on his election victory. The musician had already stated in the past that he wanted a man like Trump for Germany. In the new video he criticizes that the federal government has failed to establish contacts with the new president and “doesn’t need to be surprised.” “An almost 86-year-old man like me already has a certain amount of life experience. With that in mind: All the best from Grandpa Heino,” he ended the clip.
