Television: DSDS juror Pietro Lombardi speaks of farewell to the show

DSDS juror Pietro Lombardi says he will leave the music casting show. In a post on Instagram, the singer said in a kind of acceptance speech: “DSDS was family to me.” He did it with his heart and soul. “Thank you RTL, thank you DSDS, thank you also to Dieter – because I was proud to have been a part of it.”

At the live finale of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” on Saturday evening (8:15 p.m., RTL), the 32-year-old, who is friends with veteran juror Dieter Bohlen, wants to take the stage again and enjoy the evening, he assured. Towards the end of the post, Lombardi confirmed that he was leaving DSDS. RTL has not yet commented on this. The jury for the 21st season of the show, which ends on Saturday, consists of Bohlen, Lombardi, Beatrice Egli and Loredana.

Which left Lombardi “a little disappointed.”

With a view to the coming season, the “Bild” newspaper recently wrote about changes in the DSDS jury – RTL had no comment on this. In the Instagram post, Lombardi was somewhat cryptic about the alleged circumstances surrounding his departure: What “a little disappointed” him was the way he was treated at that moment. But he never holds that against his “family”.

The 32-year-old pop singer became known in 2011 as the winner of the eighth season of the RTL casting show. Since then he has had success with hits such as “Call My Name”, “Senorita” and “Phänomenal”, among others.

Performance of Bushido in the final

Changes in the DSDS jury are nothing new in themselves. Jury members are changed every now and then. With a view to the coming season, “Bild” reported that only Bohlen had been appointed – Lombardi, Egli and Loredana are therefore facing a replacement. “Bild” brought up the name Bushido as a possible new jury face. A dpa request to Bushido’s management remained unanswered.

RTL has now announced that the 46-year-old rapper will appear at the live finale of DSDS. “What exactly is behind it will only be revealed in the live show…” it said. Bushido had already laid a trail the day before via a video message on the RTL program.

Lombardi was also recently in the headlines because of a private row with his partner Laura Maria Rypa. At the end of October, both revealed details in a joint “Bild” interview. The influencer went to the hospital after the argument. According to her own information, she and her baby were checked – everything was fine. Rypa said of Lombardi in the newspaper interview: “He didn’t hit me.” The singer also emphasized: “I’m not a wife beater!”
