Change in trend in formal private employment after eleven months of decline

New data corresponding to the months of August and September were revealed regarding different sectors of the country. Low in public sector.

According to new data published by the Secretary of Labor of the Nationin the month of August they registered 6,233,171 workers in the formal salaried sector. This number represents a slight growth of the 0.06% compared to the previous month, where there were 6,229,207. In this way, and for the first time in the libertarian administration, a change in trend is shown in said area.

The last time an increase was recorded was also in August, but in 2023. In the total number of formal workers in the country, a growth of 0.2% was recorded: in July 2024 there were 13,272,153 registered workers, which became 13,292 .801 in August.

The numbers in other sectors and the fall in the State

It should be noted that other sectors have recently recorded positive numbers, such as constructionwhich marked a seasonally adjusted monthly variation of one 2.4% in September, while the industry -in the same period- a 2.6%.

Construction is precisely the activity that grew the most between the July-August period, with an improvement of 0.30%. Furthermore, they are followed by agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestrywith a jump of 0.28% and the creation of 897 new jobs.

On the other hand, the numbers continue to decline when focusing on the public sector: there was a decrease from 3,442,045 to 3,439,720 state employees. These values ​​are reflected in the Government’s position on the State, in its desire to make it smaller and smaller. In addition, self-employed workers also registered a drop in their sector, of 1% (409,288 to 405,084).

Finally, the amount of monotributistas; while the employment in private homes and the independent work of the social monotribute remained stable.
