The actions were on behalf of the Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes against Sexual Integrity of Córdoba, by Juan Avila Echenique. The incident for which he is accused would have occurred in the personal office of the accused located on the Schoenstatt property in the capital of Córdoba, where police forces detained him.
The complaint had been filed earlier this year by the woman and the events occurred shortly before the complaint. According to judicial sources, the man allegedly raped an adult woman in his office, after a religious celebration.
Ávila Echenique’s accusation against the priest is “outrageous sexual abuse.” Before his arrest, the prosecutor ordered a visual inspection at the headquarters of the congregation, located near the well-known “Subida del Cerro” in the capital of Córdoba. Because it is a private crime, all the data of the complaining woman is preserved.

Although the detainee is not “diocesan”, that is, he does not depend on the Diocese of Córdoba but directly on the Schöenstatt Movement, the Archbishop of Córdoba Ángel Rossi already became aware of the situation and promised to collaborate with the cause.
