A stranger attacked Josh Brolin years ago with a knife and “stabbed the actor in the belly button.”
Josh Brolin’s (56) memoir “From Under the Truck” will be published soon. The long-time acting star, known, among other things, from “No Country for Old Men” and several “Avengers” films, reports, among other things, that he survived a knife attack around eleven years ago. already take a look at the book.
Brolin was in Costa Rica in 2013 with his future wife Kathryn Boyd (37) when a strange man asked him for a cigarette or money. The actor was then attacked and “stabbed in the belly button.” However, he was lucky because it was in a place where the knife slowed down and so no vital organs were hit.
As the two were waiting for an ambulance, he called his ex-wife Alice Adair (58). Brolin’s eldest children Eden (30) and Trevor (36) come from the relationship between the two. “I know what to do, but you’ll manage,” she told him on the phone. “She will talk to the children about what I loved most about them, what they meant to me and knowing they will grow into a future they can be proud of […]”, he writes.
Josh Brolin: You can only change yourself
That same year, Brolin stopped drinking. “The only thing you can change is yourself,” he tells the magazine about what he’s learned about love. “And drinking probably won’t help the relationship if you react to alcohol like I do.”
Brolin has been married to Boyd since 2016 and the two have a six- and a three-year-old daughter together. His life today is “rougher, more naked.” The fear is “still there, but it doesn’t bother me as much anymore. That’s the nice thing about getting older, man. I wouldn’t want to be in my 20s again.” Of course, life can be frustrating at times, but he thinks to himself: “What a gift.”
“From Under the Truck” will be released in November.
