The presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni confirmed this Sunday that the Government will move forward with the deregulation of the postal service. In any case, they have not yet given further details about how they will implement the measure or what it will entail.

“The Government has made the decision to deregulate the postal service. With this measure we will achieve more competition, greater digitalization and better security in postal matters,” said Adorni.

Currently, the State is the sole shareholder of the Correo Argentino company, which covers a network of 1,400 branches and post offices throughout the country. In 2023 it had a deficit of $71,322 million. At the beginning of this year, the Government sent $90,000 million to advance with a voluntary retirement plan.
