A week after his death, Quincy Jones was buried in a private ceremony. Only close family members were there.
Quincy Jones (1933-2024) was buried in a private ceremony in Los Angeles a week after his death. , the intimate ceremony was attended only by Jones’ seven children, his brother, two sisters and immediate family.
It is not known which cemetery the ceremony took place in. A public memorial service to mark the music giant’s death is also planned, with details to be announced at a later date. The family also said that they were “extremely grateful for the numerous condolences and tributes from his friends and fans from all over the world.”
Impressive career
The music producer, composer and 28-time Grammy award winner died on November 3rd at the age of 91 surrounded by his family in Los Angeles. His seven-decade career was impressive: among other things, he produced Michael Jackson’s (1958-2009) “Thriller” album – making it the most successful album of all time. He also worked with greats such as Frank Sinatra (1915-1998), Ray Charles (1930-2004) and Stevie Wonder (74).
Numerous stars expressed their condolences to the musician on social media after his death. These included Lionel Richie (75), Elton John (77), Dr. Dre (59), Lenny Kravitz (60), Kelly Rowland (43), Will Smith (56) and David Guetta (57). The late-night show “Saturday Night Live,” which Jones hosted in 1990, also honored him with a memorial photo at the end of the show the night before his funeral.
