He Marvel Cinematic Universe seems ready to return to Wakanda. Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed that a third film in the franchise Black Panther is in process, but the actor Denzel Washington indicated on Tuesday that there is and that it will play a role.

Speaking to Australia’s Channel 9’s Today programme, as part of a press conference by Gladiator 2Washington said that the director Ryan Coogler is writing a role for him in the next movie Black Panther.

When asked about his future plans, Washington said that “at this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best, I don’t know how many more movies I’ll make, probably not that many. “I want to do things I haven’t done.”
“I played Othello at 22, now I will do it at 70,” he continued. “After that, I’ll play Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking to Steve McQueen about a movie. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a role for me in the next Black Panther”.
Black Panther has become one of the iconic franchises of the MCU, and the 2018 film starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan garnered not only critical acclaim but also massive box office receipts, grossing over $1.3 billion.
Boseman died at age 43 in 2020. The 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverfunctioned as a tribute to the late actor and a way to continue the story of Wakanda and its people.
