Melania Trump: No traditional meeting with Jill Biden

Melania Trump (54) is breaking with an important tradition and canceling a meeting with the current First Lady Jill Biden (73). She announced this on November 13th. The appointment is a traditional gathering and the first action of every new first lady.

While the outgoing president, Joe Biden (81), receives the new president, Donald Trump (78), in the Oval Office, the incoming first lady traditionally pays the incumbent a visit to the White House and chats over a cup of tea her. The meeting was normally scheduled to take place on Wednesday (November 13).

A few hours beforehand, however, Melania Trump had her team announce: “Mrs. Trump will not be attending today’s meeting in the White House. Her husband’s return to the Oval Office to begin the transition process is promising, and she wishes him every success.” Her husband Donald Trump, who was elected as the new President of the USA on November 5th, had his appointment.

Melania Trump did not give a reason for her absence. Instead, her team urges caution against false information in the article. “In this case, multiple unnamed sources in the media continue to provide false, misleading and inaccurate information,” it said. The article alludes to a series of rumors that were already circulating two days before the official cancellation. A source close to Melania Trump said on November 11th that the new presidential wife was supposedly canceling the meeting because of a personal problem with Jill Biden. “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI to snoop through her underwear drawer,” the source said, referring to the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, where investigators seized hundreds of confidential Republican documents shouldn’t have owned. The Bidens are “disgusting” and Jill Biden is therefore not someone Melania Trump wants to talk to.

After the raid, Melania Trump spoke out angrily at X. She “never imagined that the government here in America would invade my privacy.”
