In “Gladiator II,” movie star Denzel Washington kissed a man. However, the scene didn’t make it into the final cut.
Denzel Washington (69) can be seen in “Gladiator II” from November 14th. The actor now reveals that he kissed a man for the film – but the scene was cut out. “I think they were scared. […] I kissed a man on the lips and I don’t think they were ready for it,” Washington explains.
This kiss was also canceled
In addition to Washington, Pedro Pascal (49) and Paul Mescal (28) also star in the film sequel. Mescal recalled rehearsing a fight scene: “Towards the end of the scene I had the idea of kissing Pedro on the forehead.” Although director Ridley Scott (86) is said to have liked it, the forehead kiss didn’t make it into the film.
He’s retiring
Denzel Washington has been an integral part of the acting business since the 90s. The 69-year-old is now planning to retire. The selection of his final projects is all the more important to him. “There are very few films left that I can make that interest me, and I have to take inspiration from the filmmaker, and Ridley inspired me a lot,” Washington gushed about the “Gladiator II” director.
Before he retires, Washington is planning another project: He will apparently be seen in “Black Panther 3”. The two-time Oscar winner revealed that “Black Panther” director and co-writer Ryan Coogler (38) was writing a role for him. “After that I will retire,” emphasized Washington. Marvel has not officially announced a third “Black Panther” part yet.
