As Ford announced, starting in January, it will produce 70,000 units in 2025, 15% more than in 2024 and 28% more than the year of launch.
As a consequence of this growth, the automotive will add more than 160 direct collaborators at the Pacheco plant.
Meanwhile, on Toyota’s side there is still no official confirmation, but it is also evaluating greater activity at the Zárate plant.
Production cars
Car production, with good expectations for 2025.
The information that auto parts manufacturers have is that the automaker plans to increase production after the upcoming holiday break or, more precisely, starting next March 31.
Three brands will increase automotive production in 2025
The increase in production would be around 7%, about 12,000 units, according to the calculations made by auto parts manufacturers.
Today it is working in three shifts at a rate of 750 vehicles per day and it would increase to 800, by adjusting the takt time (the time between the start of production of one vehicle and the next), which today is 94 seconds.
This increase in production is due to an improvement in the domestic market and also due to the recovery of export volumes.
On the other hand, the plant Stellantis Group in El Palomar – where Peugeot and Citroën models are manufactured – also has expansion plans in the pipeline.
This automaker expects to end the year with 72,224 units produced, while for 2025 the projected for the 12 months is 78,958. This implies a global growth of 9% in production. It is always good to clarify that these plans are reviewed periodically and may change, but this is what that terminal has planned today.
This volume arises, mainly, due to the increase in the manufacturing of the 2008 SUV which began to be marketed this year. By 2024, Stellantis estimates reaching 18,043 units manufactured and rising to 33,190 in 2025.
Meanwhile, the 208 model will go from 48,091 this year to 39,020 next year. In this case there is a reduction in volume that is compensated by a greater increase in 2008.
Another piece of information from Stellantis’ 2025 production plan is that the Peugeot Partner and Citroën Berlingo utility vehicles will continue to be manufactured.
In the case of the Partner, the planned production volume between January and December 2025 is 3,410 units, while 3,338 vehicles will be made for the Berlingo. These are two models with a long history in the local market.
