No support in Hollywood: Sydney Sweeney criticizes women in her industry

Sydney Sweeney (27) has made a name for herself in the acting business in recent years. But now Sweeney is surprisingly criticizing Hollywood: According to the “Euphoria” actress, women who publicly support other women in the industry are just “a facade.” “This whole industry is all about ‘women empowering other women’. None of that is true. It’s all a hoax,” Sweeney claims. She has the feeling that the women are “fighting each other instead of building each other up.”

Sweeney has already faced criticism from a colleague in the industry: producer Carol Baum described her as “not pretty”. She also claimed that Sweeney “can’t act” and that her film “Where the Lie Falls” wasn’t worth seeing. Baum himself has so far produced 34 films with various acting greats – including Jennifer Aniston (55), Michael Douglas (80) and Dolly Parton (78).

In 2018, Sydney Sweeney celebrated her first successes with the Netflix series “Everything Sucks!”. She finally became known to a larger audience a year later with “Euphoria”: in the HBO series she played the role of Cassie Howard. Although other film projects such as “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” and “Madame Web” followed, Sweeney is still in front of the camera for the teenage series. Filming for the third season will begin next year.
