Dominic West impressed as Prince Charles in the hit series “The Crown”. He reveals what he particularly appreciated about the role.
In two seasons, actor Dominic West (55) shone as Prince Charles – now King Charles III. (76) – in “The Crown”. In an interview with the British actor looks back on his time as Charles with a wink. He tells his female fans what he finds sexy and why he and his wife Catherine are usually in bed by 8 p.m.
Dominic West finds people who are good at something sexy
The successful Netflix series concluded spectacularly in 2023 with the sixth season. The magazine asked West what was best about playing the role of the former Prince Charles. “The fact that everyone bows down to you,” West replies. He “can’t overestimate how much it cheers you up. […] I think when you have that in your life, like Charles, you have to feel completely different.” West adds, not entirely seriously: “I tried to get my kids to do that when I got home from work come, but of course they didn’t want it.”
In the series, West particularly won the sympathy of female fans as Charles. But what does the Charles actor think is sexy? “I always find people sexy when they’re not too dressed up or manicured. […] I also find it sexy when people do something that they are really good at or enjoy doing […].” And what does a perfect date with his wife Catherine FitzGerald (53) look like? West gets a little embarrassed: “I’m trying to remember our last date. The date would definitely take place outside, somewhere nice and the moon is shining.”
A day in the life of Dominic West
West then describes a typical day in the life of the West family for the magazine when he’s not filming. He lives outside Bath in the English countryside. In the morning he takes his eleven-year-old daughter to school. Afterwards he goes for a walk with the dog and enjoys swimming in the new pond they have. Then he feeds the pigs and takes care of a small piece of forest.
In the afternoon, after lunch with his wife, he picks up his daughter again. In the evening the couple started arguing about what they wanted to watch on TV. The argument usually ends around 7 p.m., “and we see what my wife wants to see,” jokes West. She fell asleep around 7:15 p.m. and he watched what he wanted to see until around 8 p.m. “Then we’ll all go to bed.”
