TV dating: Love at 73: The first “Golden Bachelor” is called Franz

An over-60 version of the dome show “The Bachelor” will soon be launched on the streaming portal RTL+. The first candidate for “Golden Bachelor” is called Franz, is 73 years old and comes from Damme in Lower Saxony. “I now have the unique opportunity to get to know remarkable women,” said the pensioner, according to RTL. “It’s fascinating how much potential life experience and wisdom they will bring with them. I am very motivated and excited to learn more about their story and am really looking forward to it.” The first season of “Golden Bachelor” starts on RTL+ on December 3rd. The main broadcaster RTL will then show it in January 2025.

On the holiday island of Crete, the divorced Franz, whose last name is Stärk, is courted by a total of 18 rose candidates over the age of 60. “As a father of two and a proud grandfather, he brings life experience and a lot of warmth,” RTL advertises for the mature charmer. “He stays fit by cycling and golfing regularly. After twelve years of being single, Franz now wants to take an extraordinary journey of love and find a woman with whom he can spark the second half of his life.”

Franz is sure that he will be able to find great love again: “It will be a great story. I am convinced of that because it hasn’t happened in my age group and it’s about time that something like that happened for people my age is hung up.”

Dating is something different at his age, said the 73-year-old, who used to work as a deputy director of a comprehensive school. “There is, I think, a little more respect and a little more respect. And, I think, a little more caution.” What his sweetheart should be like? “The women should have a sunny disposition, like me, be humorous. Naturalness is also important. So for me personally, it would also be nice if I could cuddle with a woman again.”
