Cher releases Christmas song with Giovanni Zarrella
Cher scored a hit with her song “DJ Play A Christmas Song,” released last year. Now she is reissuing the Christmas song in a bilingual version.
The first Christmas classics are already climbing the charts – and Cher wants to follow. The 78-year-old pop icon is reissuing her Christmas hit “DJ Play A Christmas Song”. Also there: singer Giovanni Zarrella (46). In the English-Italian new version of the pop song, he takes over the Italian lines: “This night feels so good because the whole world is united by a light that only shines on Christmas.”
Zarrella said it was a great honor for him to work with Cher. “I am very pleased to be able to experience in my musical career that this song, which has now become a real worldwide hit, will now be released together with her again in my home language.”
According to a statement from the label, in his album “Universo” announced for next year, the singer wants to travel back to the heyday of Italo-disco pop in the 1980s – in the style of the duet with Cher that has now been released.
