Following the death of Liam Payne, one of the people under investigation by Argentine police has broken her silence.
After the tragic death of Liam Payne (1993-2024), according to media reports, three people are said to be the focus of investigations by the Argentine authorities. One Direction member Payne famously died on October 16 when he fell several stories from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
Suspect agrees to cooperate
A person named Braian Nahuel Paiz, who was charged in connection with Payne’s sudden death, reported that he wanted to cooperate fully with the ongoing police investigation: “I want to contribute everything: my phone, everything to the investigation,” said Paiz. “I have nothing that can harm me.”
In addition, Paiz assured that he would also bring his experiences as a witness into the investigation so that “justice is served.” Paiz said he met Payne twice. “We met up with Liam, it was chill. We met up and listened to some music.” The musician also played him some beats and rough versions of songs he was working on.
Paiz and Payne are said to have met in a restaurant where Paiz worked. Contact was subsequently maintained via Instagram. Paiz denies supplying the singer with drugs. Another person, who he suspects was in Payne’s hotel room before him, is said to have handed him a “soapbox” that contained drugs.
The singer then asked Paiz to leave his hotel room when another person arrived. “I don’t know what was going on,” explains Paiz. He was unable to determine the identity of the other person before leaving the room.
Liam Payne’s toxicology report
According to the Argentine police, the toxicology report on the tragic death that caused consternation around the world revealed that Payne had consumed alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant several times in the 72 hours before his death. During the investigation, three suspects were arrested, including a hotel employee. They are accused of “neglect of a person resulting in death as well as the supply and distribution of narcotics,” the investigation report said.
