The Government authorized an additional discount in toll billing for the use of the VNT for international tourism cruise ships that arrive at the Port of Buenos Aires during the 2024/2025 season. The measure was authorized through the Official Gazette by the National Ports Administration.
According to Resolution 24/2024, between THIRTY THOUSAND (30,000) and SEVENTY THOUSAND (70,000) TRN will apply; while for the vessels exceeding SEVENTY THOUSAND (70,000) TRN The surplus would be credited if it is greater than the base discount.
Likewise, in order to encourage the number of calls, it was resolved to “grant an additional FIVE PERCENT (5%) on the total of the original discount for all those vessels that exceed THIRTY THOUSAND (30,000) TRN and have TEN (10) calls or more within the same season,” they detailed. The objective is to maintain the tourist impulse and not distort the intended purpose of the measure.
Three weeks ago, the Government had also established the service remuneration rate charged for all tourists entering or leaving the territory and pass through different national ports, it must be paid only once. However, no changes were made to the amounts. In this way, it joins a series of measures to promote international tourism, in a context where the exchange rate favors outbound tourism.
