The black sheep of the Norwegian royal family is called Marius Borg Høiby. Mette-Marit’s son was recently arrested again. Accusation: rape. What has happened so far.
Anyone who thought that the situation around Marius Borg Høiby would be calmer by now was wrong. On Monday evening, Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son was arrested for the third time in just a few months. He was caught in a car shortly before midnight and is now in custody in Oslo’s Grønland district, police announced on Tuesday morning. It has not yet been decided whether he should remain in prison longer.
At the same time, the police expanded the allegations against the 27-year-old. He is now also accused of violating a paragraph that deals with sexual intercourse with a person who is unconscious or cannot resist the act for other reasons. “What the police can say about the rape is that it was sexual intercourse without intercourse”the investigators said in a statement. It’s a shocking suspicion. However, the Norwegian royal’s downfall began much earlier.
Marius Borg Høiby: Assault at the beginning of August
In the Fall of last year Borg Høiby was arrested by the Norwegian police for the first time “preventive” questioned. The woman, who was able to escape the apartment and call police, was diagnosed with a concussion. She stayed in a Norwegian clinic for two days. A day after the incident, Borg Høiby was arrested and spent two days in custody, after which he retreated to the Skaugum farm, the residence of the Corn Prince family, about 25 kilometers from Oslo.

Confession shortly after attack
Shortly afterwards, Borg Høiby showed up, to the surprise of many confessed. “Last weekend something happened that should never have happened”he explained in a statement. “I committed bodily harm and destroyed objects in an apartment.” He also revealed that he was under the influence of cocaine. Borg Høiby said he has suffered from several mental disorders that have affected his life since childhood.
Anyone who thought that a confession would bring some peace to the matter was mistaken. In mid-September, the scandal reached another – sad – climax when the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit was arrested again. After a night in prison he was released. The 27-year-old is said to have violated the ban on contact. After his again arrest Borg Høiby was not aware of any guilt. His lawyer said the arrest was based on one “poor factual and legal basis”.
