A screening of Daniel Craig’s latest film “Queer” reunited the 007 actor with Oscar winner Julia Roberts in San Francisco.
Ex-James Bond actor Daniel Craig (56) will be appearing in “Queer” in German cinemas in just a few weeks. The latest film from “Call Me by Your Name” director Luca Guadagnino (53) will also be released in German cinemas on January 2nd. The director and leading actors presented their work at a special screening in San Francisco on Monday (November 18).
Craig wore a leather bomber jacket for the special occasion and paired it with a cream scarf. Also present was none other than Oscar winner Julia Roberts (57), who also has a connection to filmmaker Guadagnino, and appeared at the event in a dark gray blazer and matching trousers.
That’s what “Queer” is about
In “Queer”, based on the novel of the same name by William S. Burroughs (1914-1997), Daniel Craig plays an American who had to flee to Mexico City in the 1950s because of drug offenses. On site, the loner roams the city’s clubs and cafés. His social contacts are limited to the few remaining members of the small US community when he meets the former soldier Eugene (Drew Starkey, 31) and begins to cautiously approach the young man.
While ex-007 Daniel Craig plays the leading role in “Queer”, director Guadagnino was able to hire Julia Roberts as the leading actress for his next work “After the Hunt”. The thriller follows a college professor (Roberts) who is forced to confront her own mysterious past after serious allegations are made against one of her colleagues.
“After the Hunt,” which has already been filmed, does not currently have a theatrical release date. “The Bear” star Ayo Edebiri (29) and ex-Spider-Man Andrew Garfield (41) are also part of the cast.
