At 65 years old, Mirta Bellaescusa is proof that it is never too late to challenge our own limits and reach new heights. This woman, mother, grandmother and adventure lover, has transformed her life through trekking, overcoming barriers that many would consider impossible.
His most recent feat was climbing his own summit to 6,200 meters of Everest. During November and December, Mirta proposes walks in Buenos Aires, and invites women and men to walk and rediscover their own inner strength.
Resilience and perseverance: Mirta’s recipe to reach the top
Six years ago, Mirta Bellaescusa decided that she wanted more from life than just daily routines and office tasks. This is how he discovered mountain trekking and turned it into a lifestyle. Since then, her passion for this sport has taken her to explore some of the most challenging hills in the world, including the imposing Himalayan mountain range.
Here’s how he plans his own challenge: climbing Kilimanjaro; a mountain located in northeastern Tanzania, formed by three dormant volcanoes with its highest peak reaching 5891.8 meters. It is the highest mountain in Africa.
“I love climbing and walking. I have discovered wonderful places and on this wonderful trip I exceed my limits day by day. Now my goal is to climb Kilimanjaro,” Mirta explained.
The discipline and care behind success
Mirta’s path to success has not been easy or quick. His physical and mental preparation is worthy of admiration: “I train four times a week with a physical trainer and follow a rigorous eating regimen that excludes gluten, refined flours and red meat. This dedication has allowed me to maintain the performance necessary to perform this type of journey and every time I reach a new one I feel an indescribable emotion.
Since she began trekking, Mirta has climbed 10 mountains in a period of two and a half years, culminating with Aconcagua, the highest peak in America. He has endured extreme temperatures, altitude sickness and the loneliness of nights in a tent at -14°C. However, every challenge he has faced he takes as an opportunity to grow and learn, transforming obstacles into stepping stones towards his own personal development.
“The low temperatures or other types of adversities that one must face are challenges to overcome; I do not see it as suffering, although I always take care of my personal safety.”
Invitation to walk with Mirta in Buenos Aires: October and November 2024
In her mission to inspire and connect with more people, Mirta will be leading walks through natural spaces in Buenos Aires. During November and December he plans to make different proposals in Buenos Aires.
“Walking in nature is an act of love towards oneself. It means leaving doubts, fear and stress behind, and taking that first step towards what we really want in life,” says Mirta. “It is not just a physical exercise, it is a way to reconnect with our essence,” he stressed.
Mirta invites women and men of all ages to join these walks, hoping that each step becomes a source of inspiration and motivation. For her, it’s not just about walking, but about creating a community of people who support each other and believe in the possibility of improving themselves, no matter the circumstances.
In 2025, Mirta has new summits on her horizon: in addition to Kilimanjaro in Africa, she plans to climb Fitz Roy in Argentine Patagonia. But, before launching into these great challenges, her focus is on motivating those around her to take that first step, the most important of all, towards a healthier and fuller life.
