Did Sabrina Carpenter expect this? A priest in New York lost his job after filming a video in a church.
A New York priest has apparently lost his job because of, among other things, a music video by pop star Sabrina Carpenter (25). filming provocative scenes for the clip in his church. According to the report, he was then accused of mismanagement and has now been relieved of his duties.
An investigation followed the release of “Feather.”
A statement from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn said the priest had been relieved of any “supervision or leadership role” in the church. After the release of the music video for Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Feather” in October 2023, which was probably partly filmed in the church “Our Lady of Mount Carmel”, the church opened an investigation.
According to media reports, the diocese has now stated that this investigation found other cases of priest mismanagement beyond the music video.
Sabrina Carpenter dances in front of the altar in a short black dress
The video for “Feather” shows, among other things, how Sabrina Carpenter dances in the church in a very short, black dress and a dark veil, and among other things, she performs in front of old age next to coffins. According to CBS, church officials said they were horrified that the priest in charge allowed the singer to film the provocative video in the church.
In a public letter to parishioners last November, the priest apologized and said that approving the filming was a “misjudgment.” He claimed that he didn’t realize at the time how provocative the footage would be. With “Feather” Sabrina Carpenter landed chart positions in Great Britain (number 19) and the USA (number 21).
