Karoline Schuch will investigate the Kiel “crime scene” together with Almila Bagriacik. She is currently in front of the camera for the first time in a double episode. She wants to show that police can also be different.
Actress Karoline Schuch is attracted to the role of psychologist in the Kiel “Tatort” team because of her own history. The 43-year-old said on the sidelines of filming in Kiel that she had often received requests for crime films. “I’m particularly interested in this here because she’s a psychologist. I can draw a little bit from my studies and draw from my experience.” She wants to promote the fact that the police can be different.
Her predecessor Axel Milberg, who is saying goodbye to his role as Commissioner Klaus Borowski after more than 20 years, had given her no advice in advance, said Schuch. “But he found such beautiful words that I will become his successor.” These are very big shoes to fill. “But I’m happy that he thinks it’s totally okay that I’ve taken over this now.”
“I’m not really a weekly “crime scene” watcher,” Schuch revealed. That used to be her. “I also watched a lot of Borowskis.” For her, her role is crucial. “That it is a psychologist and not a police officer, not a woman who is on duty with a weapon, and does not have to ask investigative questions. At least not the classic ones.”
The team will be in front of the camera for two crime films until mid-December. The double episode “Among Friends / Among Enemies” is expected to be broadcast on Das Erste on two Sundays in a row in 2026. Schuch (“The Second Wave”) plays police psychologist Elli Krieger. Schuch was already seen as a guest star in the Kiel “Tatort” case “Borowski and the House of the Ghosts” in 2018.
Bagriacik (34) aka Chief Inspector Mila Sahin is looking forward to working together. Bagriacik said she filmed her first “Tatort” in Kiel with Schuch. “It’s come full circle now and she’s my new partner.”
After Milberg’s departure, it was a great responsibility to continue the Kiel series, said Bagriacik. “It’s important that we don’t try to replace Axel Milberg.”
