Numerous mourners have said goodbye to Liam Payne (1993-2024). The singer’s black coffin was pulled by a white horse-drawn carriage through the streets of Amersham, near London, before the funeral. Friends and family watched as two white horses carried the coffin covered with white flowers to St. Mary’s Church. Two wreaths also decorated the car: while red flowers formed the word “Daddy”, blue flowers were arranged to form the word “Son”. Some of the musician’s friends appeared at the private funeral, including all four One Direction members.
Prominent guests at the funeral service
Harry Styles (30) was the first of his boy band colleagues to appear at the funeral service. The pop star stepped out of one of the cars wearing a black suit, white shirt with black tie and long coat. A few minutes later, Zayn Malik (31) followed in a black velvet blazer. Both of them hid their eyes behind sunglasses. While Louis Tomlinson (32) also arrived alone, Niall Horan (31) came accompanied by his girlfriend Amelia Woolley.
Among the first to arrive was Payne’s ex-girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who was accompanied by Elizabeth Hurley’s (59) son Damian (22).
According to media reports, Payne’s ex-partner Cheryl Cole (41), with whom he was in a relationship for around two years until 2018, and their son Bear (7) also appeared. Cole’s Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts (39) and Kimberley Walsh (43) also accepted the invitation, as can be seen in photos.
Presenter and actor James Corden (46) as well as “America’s Got Talent” juror Simon Cowell (65) and his wife Lauren Silverman (47) also traveled to the ceremony. Simon Jones, who was formerly responsible for PR for One Direction, also came to the memorial service.
