A new, serious accusation has been made against Marius Borg Høiby: Mette-Marit’s son is accused of a second rape. Now he should be in custody.
The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby, is accused of another sexual offense. A second incident was discovered, said prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski from the Oslo police, who was in charge of the case, after the end of a detention hearing in the Norwegian capital. This is now being investigated. As in the other case, it was about sexual intercourse with a woman who was unable to resist the act.
This is the reason why they asked for two weeks of pre-trial detention for the 27-year-old, said Kruszewski. According to information from the court, a decision on this should be made later in the day, but was still pending by late afternoon.

Høiby’s lawyer Øyvind Bratlien told Norwegian media that his client would appear in court but there was no basis for pre-trial detention. They want to show the court that the case looks different and is far more nuanced than what is portrayed in the media.
Høiby denies the new allegations, according to his lawyer. He was arrested shortly before midnight on Monday for the third time in four months. Since then he has been in custody in the Grønland district of Oslo.
