Miley Cyrus: New music with partner Maxx Morando

Good news for all fans of Miley Cyrus (31): The singer is working on new music. She reveals that her new album will be released in 2025. For the Grammy winner, it would be her ninth studio record, following 2023’s “Endless Summer Vacation.”

And this time everything will be different, as the singer reports in an interview. The recording has a vibe that she describes as “hypnotizing and glamorous” – and above all more experimental than anything she has released before. “It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to heal a sick culture through music,” said Cyrus. Every song should have “healing sound properties”. It is not yet known when exactly the record will be released in 2025.

Her partner Maxx Morando (26) was significantly involved in the creation of the new album, Cyrus said in the interview. Morando, who is also on the road musically as the drummer for the rock band Liily, wrote the title track “Something Beautiful” with her and produced several of the other songs.

The musician has long been used to this mixture of private life and work. “I’ve always worked with my father. That’s how my ex-husband and I met. I’ve always worked with the people I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much,” she emphasizes. Miley Cyrus, the daughter of country star Billy Rae Cyrus (63), was in a relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth (34) for ten years until 2019, and married for a few months.

She has now been together with Maxx Morando for three years. In February 2024, it was reported that the two had moved in together. In addition to her love of music, the 31-year-old said in the cover story that she had a lot in common with her partner, who was around six years her junior: “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”
