“Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”: Musician Rod Stewart will be 80 next year and is planning a number of concerts in Europe and the USA. Now he explains to fans what could come next.
Musician Rod Stewart (79) indicates that he is saying goodbye to major world tours. Next year, concerts are planned in Europe and the USA on a tour that is advertised as “One Last Time” – but in the long term he wants to play more intimate concerts. “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire,” said a post on Instagram, Facebook and X.
“I love what I do and do what I love,” Stewart continued. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the happy age of 79.” He wants to continue with a “Great American Songbook”, “Swing Fever” tour in 2026 – smaller venues and more intimacy. “But then maybe not…” said the statement, which was signed “the ambivalent Sir Rod Stewart”.
The British musician (“Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, “Sailing”, “Maggie May”) will be giving two concert series in Las Vegas next year. Between the two so-called residencies, performances in Germany are planned, among other things. Since being honored by the British royal family in 2016, he has been allowed to call himself “Sir”. Stewart, who was treated for prostate cancer several years ago, turns 80 in January.
