Donald Trump is expanding his merchandising empire: his new guitar collection costs between $1,250 and $10,000.
The former and future US President Donald Trump (78) is consistently continuing his merchandising course: After Bibles, sneakers and luxury watches, he is now bringing a limited guitar collection onto the market. According to consistent media reports, Trump himself announced this on his social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday. A corresponding website has already gone online.
The “Limited Edition ’45’ Guitar” is offered as both an acoustic and an electric version. Both models are decorated with American flags and eagles and are available in different designs and colors. The Trump slogan “Make America Great Again” is inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the guitar neck. The number “45” on the headstock commemorates Trump’s time as the 45th President of the USA.
Only 1,300 of each guitar variant will be produced. The acoustic version costs $1,250 and the electric version costs $1,500. Trump fans who want to purchase a “Signature Edition” personally signed by him will have to dig particularly deep into their pockets – it costs an impressive $10,000.
Part of an extensive merchandising strategy
The guitars are part of Trump’s extensive merchandising portfolio. Just in March, he marketed a $60 Bible inspired by the patriotic song “God Bless the USA.” His range also includes sneakers for $400 and watches for up to $100,000.
According to US media reports, it is still unclear exactly what the financial relationship between Trump and guitar sales looks like. Unlike other Trump products, the website does not contain any information about the license agreements behind it.
For Trump fans who want to receive gifts by Christmas, the website promises timely delivery of all “American Eagle” guitars. Delivery of the “Presidential Series,” however, can take up to six months.
