Boris Becker mourns on his birthday: touching message to his deceased mother

Yesterday, Thursday (November 21st), Boris Becker’s (57) lawyer Christian-Oliver Moser confirmed that Becker’s mother Elvira (1935-2024) died at the age of 89. There he shared several pictures showing him with his mother over the years. “My dear mother has left us… I owe you everything I have achieved in life,” wrote the former Wimbledon winner. He currently feels “a lot of pain,” but his mother “made him a strong man” when he was born exactly 57 years ago. He further added: “It was the first snowfall in Leimen, and it’s snowing again today.”

In another text, Becker also thanked his sister Sabine (60) for her condolences in the death of his mother. According to the report in the “Bild” newspaper, after hearing the news of his death, he made his way directly from his adopted home of Milan to his hometown of Leimen in Baden-Württemberg. The ex-sports professional maintained close contact with his mother until the end. He repeatedly expressed his love for her with posts on Instagram and raved about their good relationship.

Boris Becker’s father, Karl-Heinz Becker (1935-1999), had already succumbed to cancer in 1999. During his active career, Boris Becker’s parents were guests of honor in the stands at numerous games and supported their son, including his legendary first Wimbledon victory in 1985 as a 17-year-old. Aside from his matches, they tended to stay away from the spotlight.
