Garrahan workers held a candle march to demand better wages

The Garrahan Hospital is going through a crisis regarding the loss of qualified personnel, “as a result of insufficient salaries.”

Workers of the Garrahan Hospital This afternoon they carried out a new march with the aim of continuing the wage claim and defend “the highly complex public model.” The institution’s workers participated dressed in white clothing and carried candles and lanterns.

The mobilization, open to the entire community, started at 7 p.m. from the intersection of Callao and Corrientes avenues, in the center of the City of Buenos Aires.

For some time now, the Garrahan Hospital has been going through a crisis regarding the loss of qualified personnel, “as a result of insufficient salaries”, however, since 2024, the situation has worsened when professionals “with years of experience” and young people “seeking better conditions labor” went to work in the private sector and outside the country.

Despite having made several complaints, “no favorable responses have been received from government authorities,” For this reason, this “torch march” aims to make the conflict visible “before an irreversible loss of the unique model of care and training occurs.”
