Surveillance camera footage raises new questions about Liam Payne’s death
Shortly before Liam Payne fell from his hotel balcony and died, he was in a helpless state. Footage from a surveillance camera shows how he was not helped.
The news of One Direction singer Liam Payne’s death shocked more than just the boy band’s passionate fans. The more circumstances surrounding the incident become known, the bigger the question marks become. On October 16, Payne fell from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He had no chance of survival. After an autopsy of the body, suicide was ruled out because there was evidence that Payne was unconscious when he fell or at least did not know what he was doing.

But why did Payne fall? New footage from a surveillance camera in the hotel lobby published by the Daily Mail may provide an insight into Payne’s condition. They show three men – two of them in hotel uniforms – carrying the musician from the lobby towards the elevators at 4:54 p.m. His head hangs down, Payne lacks any body tension.

The three men carried the world star into his hotel room. Immediately afterwards, the hotel employee named Esteban called the emergency number and said that Payne’s room had a balcony. He seemed to have been fully aware of the risk. When emergency services arrived a few minutes later, Payne was already dead.
He was left alone
Looking at the video, it appears that the employee left the obviously helpless Payne to fend for himself. In the half hour before his death, the musician had noticed guests and employees with his “erratic behavior” after he disappeared into his room several times and then went back to the lobby.
It seems surprising that the hotel staff didn’t call for help while Payne was still in the lobby – and clearly not in his right mind. The men themselves would have to explain why they thought it was right to take the singer to his room.
Payne’s friend Kate Cassidy, who had left Argentina a few days earlier, apparently also saw the pictures. The US magazine “Page Six” learned from those around her that the recordings had taken a toll on her. “He could have been saved, he could have been helped,” said a friend of Cassidy’s.
