The presidential candidate for Broad Front (FA), Yamandu Orsiassured that he will continue working for his party in case he does not win in the 2024 runoff this Sunday.
In the traditional way he greets journalists at the door of his house in Salinas, CannelloniOrsi with mate in hand highlighted the enthusiasm of the people during the campaign and evaluated what he will do in his future if he is not elected.
“I have always been an activist and I have a profession, therefore, I will return to being a teacher that is what I studied for. It’s not that there is a plan B but that life goes on and I will never give up on the ideals that one has. “It doesn’t even occur to me to lower my arms no matter what, this is a long road where you never reach the end,” he said.
Asked about the complaints about ballots with irregularities made by both the Frente Amplio and the National Party (PN)the former mayor of Canelones said that “it is good that people are alert.” “The Uruguayan citizen takes a good look, this is not going to have much effect,” he added.
“There is something we agree on: democracy is and has to be a party and never miss this atmosphere, of people crossing paths. Let’s think that it was a campaign that, despite how intense, there were no unwanted encounters,” he reflected.
“We have become accustomed to the fact that this is the only way to solve problems. “It’s this, going to vote and then there is the one who goes and votes and has a political color, and those who don’t, but who are very clear about the role they play in this,” Orsi added.
