What is the 4-7-8 technique like?

This process must repeat 4 to 8 times, or until the person feels relaxed and ready to sleep:

  1. Inhale through the nose for 4 seconds.
  2. Hold your breath for 7 seconds.
  3. Exhale gently through your mouth 8 seconds.
