The vision loss was caused by an eye infection the music legend contracted in the south of France.
Elton John is not being able to see with his right eye at least for the last four months due to an eye infection he suffered in July. The medical incident, which occurred in the south of France, left the iconic singer unsure of whether or not he will be able to return to the studio.
“It’s been four months since I can’t see, and my left eye is not in its best condition.”John said during an interview with “Good Morning America.”
“There’s hope and encouragement that everything will work out, but I’m kind of stuck right now because I can do something like that, but get in the studio and record, I don’t know,” John continued, revealing that he currently can’t see the lyrics. “It left me stunned. I can’t see anything. “I can’t read anything, I can’t see anything.”

In September, the singer “I’m Still Standing” revealed that he had been left partially blind due to what he called a “serious eye infection.” “I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will be some time before sight returns to the affected eye,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
On “Good Morning America,” John said that He and his team remain focused on his recovery. “It’s never lucky for something like that to happen,” John said.
Despite his medical issues, John remained upbeat during his interview with ABC on Monday morning. He stopped by the program to promote his documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late”directed by the director of “The War Room,” RJ Cutleras well as by John’s husband, David Furnish. In the interview, John said he was proud of the documentary, his children and his “attitude toward myself” during this difficult time in his life.
“I’m the luckiest man in the world,” the Grammy-winning legend concluded.
